Overview of how virtual LEGO® brick images are created

To show Existing Conditions (above), a virtual LEGO® brick image was created by inputing existing people and jobs on to the grid, and showing those areas where, in 2005, there were about 1,500 people, or about 1,300 jobs.    To show the 2060 Trend, the 2060 image created by 1000 Friends of Florida was used to make assumptions regarding the location and density/intensity of growth by 2060.  These images were created solely to provide a comparison to the growth pattern images created at the visioning exercises.

A map without county boundaries was used for the visioning exercises.  It was divided into grids, each representing one mile square.
